There is a new, modern school on Westeinde in Harderwijk. It is the place where secondary education and vocational education come together. It is an innovative and important learning environment for everyone aged 12 and over from Harderwijk and the surrounding area.
Leegwater Houtbereiding was commissioned to produce the cladding for this project. This cladding is made from Finnish spruce, which, for this project, was fabricated using finger-jointed open cladding profiles. The advantage of this production method is that optimal length specifications can be achieved with minimal wastage of raw materials.
In addition to being ecologically preserved using Woodlife HL-50, the timber has been treated with a biodegradable, maintenance-free fire retardant, Flame Delay FXPro®. This will allow the timber to continue to weather naturally.
