About

This stunning apartment block has recently been completed on the outskirts of Almelo, next to the historic flour tower. It comprises 16 apartments, with one apartment per wing on each floor. The high-quality and very spacious apartments, which have been finished to the highest standard, all feature a terrace on all sides. Two of the apartments also have a large roof terrace and a private roof garden. The building’s appearance is reminiscent of a bride, and its name certainly lives up to this. The ceilings of the terraces are entirely clad in wood all round, lending a very natural look to the whole building and the apartments’ outdoor surroundings.

Leegwater Houtbereiding was commissioned to produce the ceiling cladding for this project. It is made from Finnish spruce, featuring open façade profiles. In addition to ecological preservation using Woodlife HL-50, it has been partially treated with our biodegradable, maintenance-free fire retardant Flame Delay FXPro® and finished with Sansin SDF Woodsealer. This will allow the wood to continue to weather evenly in a natural way.
