On 1 February 2026, Blommers opened their new coffee bar in the central hall of the Radboud Experience Centre.
For this project, Leegwater Houtbereiding was commissioned to produce the spruce timber ceiling cladding.
This cladding is made from top-grade Finnish spruce, which was fitted with open cladding profiles for this project.
For the external overhang, an eco-friendly preservative treatment using Woodlife HL-50 was applied, supplemented by a biodegradable, maintenance-free fire retardant, Flame Delay FXPro®. As a final finish, a Colorseen® Clear UV stain was applied to preserve the colour of the spruce timber. This also prevents colour differences between the exterior and interior ceilings.
